There are two types of funds that require Actuarial Certificates – funds providing Account Based Pension Certificates and funds providing Defined Benefit Pension Certificates; at Haintz Actuarial, we have extensive experience in preparing both.
Actuarial certificates are required in order to entitle the fund to claim a proportion of its net income as exempt from income tax under Section 295-390 of the ITAA 1997. For those funds that pay a defined benefit pension, the certificate must also state whether the defined benefit pension assets are sufficient to meet the defined benefit pension liabilities.
